According to the publication's editors, Symantec's solution detected and cleaned every virus tested, while leaving the largest number of user macros untouched. "Our Editors' Choice remains the same....Symantec's Norton AntiVirus 2000 provides the best antivirus protection in this roundup," said PC Magazine's editors. Norton AntiVirus 2000 bested a field of five, including McAfee VirusScan and Panda Software's Panda Antivirus Platinum.
Other prestigious awards include the Secure Computing Readers Trust Award for Best Anti-virus Product 2000, the Academy Award for Best Anti-virus Product 2000 and the Principle Award for Best Security Software overall at the Secure Computing Millennium Awards. Norton AntiVirus 2000 also continues to earn recognition from trade publications and users worldwide. Recently it was named a Best Buy and Editor's Pick by PC World. Norton AntiVirus 2000 has also been awarded Computer Shopper's Best Buy as well as being named to WinMag's WinList.
