The check is in the mail and it is no different with E•Mail, the biggest daily threat to your computer is from what you can receive via eomail. The list is almost endless: trojan executables, macro viruses, and worms. I never open an attachment that I am not 99.9% sure of the source and I am still at risk because my "trusted source" may have been a little too trusting of others. There are no guarantees. Those who know me know of my preference for Norton AntiVirus which has been born out of years of experience with various AntiVirus solutions that run on the PC. One of my long time favorite features of the Norton program is it's monitoring of the floppy drive for virus infected floppies, especially during reboots when one might have left a floppy in the drive; what get's read first on boot, the floppy! With Norton AntiVirus 2000, that protection now extends up to the Internet by scanning all incoming email attachments for viruses as well as downloads from the Internet via your browser. In my opinion, with Norton AntiVirus 2000, the best only keeps getting better. In related concerns, you'll want to check the two links below.
