March 2003 CD of the Month

The March 2003 IPCUG CDOM (CD of the Month) features the latest service pack update for WindowsXP along Internet Explorer 6 SP 1, Windows Player 9, SUN JAVA 2.0 with Web Start, Diskkeeper 7.01 updates, AI Agent 1.0, RealOnePlay Version 2 (Gold) and Netsacpe 7.02 (Windows and Linux).  For the Linux group, we have the latest SAMBA documents and distribution.

On the CD are 7 folders: AI Agent, DskKpr, Ie6sp98, Ie6spwme, Ie6spwxp, MediPlyr, and NetScape, plus several files located in the root of the CD.

Also on the CD is this auto-play browser based index to the CD. The hyperlinks in each section will run the installer for the program being described. On installable programs you will be prompted to open or save the "downloaded" file. You should "open" the file from its location in order for the installer to automatically run.

Internet Explorer Service Pack 1- The first major update to Internet Explorer 6, a must have as it includes a number of security patches.  The are three installation folders, Windows 9x, me, and XP.

Netscape 7.02 - The latest offering of this powerful internet browser. Netscape 7.02 Installer.
                           Netscape 7.02 Linux 2.2 version is also contained in the Netscape folder

Sun Java 2.0 w/ Web Start - Latest JAVA engine 2.0, not available from Microsoft but required for viewing some web sites.

WindowsXP SP1a - 125 MB Update to the original Service Pack 1 for WindowsXP.

Windows Media Player 9 - Latest & Greatest!

RealOne Player V2 (GOLD) - Latest RealOne Player (Version 2).

AI Agent - Microsoft Agent based Database Program.  Create Brains using Agents that you can then share with others.  BrainMaker utility is also included for creating "brains" from text files.  Full Program with a free 30 Day Evaluation period.

Diskkeeper Version 7 Updates.

o Home Edition XP
o Network/Workstation

The Linux folder contains several SAMBA/Linux files as well as Linux Administration Guides.
