IPCUG Logo  April 2004 CD of the Month

The April 2004 IPCUG CDOM (CD of the Month) is a collection of tools to help you clean up your system from trojans, viruses, spyware, adware and popups of various origins..

Also on the CD is this auto-play browser based index to the CD. The hyperlinks in each section will run the installer for the program being described. On most of these programs you will be prompted to open or save the "downloaded" file. You should "open" the file from its location in order for the program to automatically install or run as needed.  It needs to be noted that these tools have the power to "break" your system as sometimes removing a trojan or virus file may break something else.  SpyBot, HijackThis, and AdAware6 allow you to make selections as to what to remove.  HijackThis is the most powerful of the tools that can "break" your system.

SpyBot 1.2 Seach & Destroy - SpyBot S&D Home

o SpyBot 1.2 Installer - Spybot 1.2 S&D Installer (Must be installed to your computer).
o SpyBot 1.2 Detection Update - 3/04/2004 Detection List Update.
o SpyBot 1.2 Tools Update - 3/04/2004 Tools Update.

Trend SysClean Scanner -  Folder must be copied to hard drive. Trojan Finder. Open the CD by clickingon the link and then click on the "trend.bat" located in the folder.

HiJackThis -  Very poweful tool.  Provides a litany (list) of things that can be removed.  You must select what you want the items to be removed but it does provide for a restore.

AdAware6 Personal Edition - This must be installed to your computer.  Searches out all forms of adware and popups.
